Volleyball Drops Close Match On Road To Baruch, 3-0

NEW YORK (Sept. 14, 2015) – The USMMA women's volleyball team lost its non-conference matchup on the road at Baruch on Monday night in straight sets, 27-25, 28-26, 25-22. The loss drops the Mariners to 5-2 on the season, while the Bearcats improve to 5-6.

Junior Gabby Marionakis (Royal Palm Beach, Fla.) picked up a team-high 15 digs, while sophomore Kayla Gleason (Sound Beach, N.Y.) had 19 assists on the night. Classmate Dominique Pope (Silver Spring, Md.) recorded a team-best seven kills, and junior Amanda See (Waukesha, Wis.) led all players in the match with five blocks.

Baruch was led by junior Sydney Parks, who had a match-high 12 kills and a .391 hitting percentage. Senior Crytle Dela Cruz dished out 39 assists, and classmate McKenzie Davidson picked up a match-best 18 digs. Seniors Nicole Rios and Amy Suny also had double-digit digs, as Rios recorded 13 and Sung had 11.
