KINGS POINT, N.Y. (April 14, 2018) –. The USMMA women's track & field team spent Saturday morning and afternoon at the Queensborough Relay meet at nearby Queensborough Community College. The Mariners claimed one first-place finish at the event and one relay team set a new Academy record.
The 4x800m relay team of junior Kelsey Ramirez (Stevensville, Mich.), sophomore Anna Lewis (Lakehead, Calif.), senior Kaylee Kilbert (Canfield, Ohio) and sophomore Sophia Tucker (Navarre, Fla.) came in first place at their event with a time of 10:55.08.
Also, the 4x200m relay team of sophomore Alexa Vandermeer (Grove Heights, Minn.), senior Dominique Pope (Silver Spring, Md.), sophomore Samantha Reinebold (Tampa, Fla.) and Tucker set a new Academy record after they crossed the finish line with a time of 1:58.41, which was good for fourth place in the event.
The Mariners are back in action next Sunday, April 22, when they host the Coach Omeltchenko Invitational at Brooks Stadium. More information on the home meet will be available on the USMMA Women's Track & Field Schedule Page closer to the event.
