T&F Results From TCNJ Invite Available; McFadyen Leads With With Second-Place Finish In Discus

EWING, N.J. (April 8, 2017) – The USMMA men's and women's track & field teams competed in The College of New Jersey's Invitation on Saturday. Below are the Mariners' top finishes at the event.
 
Freshman thrower Ally McFadyen (Saint James, N.Y.) led all of the Mariners' competitors with a second-place finish in the discus with a toss of 35.14m (115' 3"). She also placed eighth in the hammer throw with a mark of 31.68m (103' 11").
 
Classmate Kaleigh D'Arcy (White Plains, N.Y.) had the Merchant Marine women's runners' top finish, coming in 12th in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:12.85.
 
On the men's side, junior Blase Neumann (Spokane, Wash.) came in ninth place in the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.00m (13' 1.5"). Senior Conor McWeeney (Lake Oswego, Ore.) and junior Seung Hwang (Wayne, N.J.) both led the Mariner runners with 11th-place finishes – McWeeney in the 1500 meters in 4:17.07 and Hwang in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.42. 

The Mariners return to action later this month, when they host the Coach Omeltchenko Invitational on Sunday, April 23, at Brooks Stadium. More information on that meet will be available closer to the date of competition.
