KINGS POINT, N.Y. (April 17, 2016) – The USMMA women's track & field team hosted the Coach Omeltchenko Invitational Meet on Sunday at Brooks Stadium. The Mariners had two top-15 finishes at the event during the beautiful spring day.
Freshman Kelsey Ramirez (Stevensville, Mich.) came in eighth place in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:14.64. In the same event, classmates Monica Keeley (West Hartford, Conn.) and Erica Lawlor (Stafford, Conn.) placed 26th (5:41.38) and 32nd (6:05.10), respectively.
In the women's 400 meter hurdles, sophomore Mache' Mason (Dallas, Texas) crossed in 1:23.89, which was good for 11th place.
Meanwhile, at the long jump pit, both freshman Megan Toler (Prunedale, Calif.) and junior Patricia Ormond (Lakewood, Colo.) recorded personal best marks finishing 20th and 21st, respectively. Toler leaped 3.80 meters (12ft 5.75in) and Ormond jumped 3.72 meters (12ft 2.5in).

The Mariners are back in action next Saturday, April 23, when they travel to East Stroudsburg, Pa., to compete in the ESU All-American Invite.
