Mariners Produce Seven Top-12 Finishes And Place Sixth At TNCJ Invite

EWING, N.J. (Dec. 3, 2017) – The USMMA women's swim & dive team competed in the TCNJ Invitational this weekend in New Jersey. The Mariners finished the event in sixth place and had seven individual top-12 finishes over the three day invite. 

Below are the Mariners that placed in the top-12. 

  • Freshman Victoria Kirshner (Santa Clarita, Calif.) in three events – ninth in the 100 freestyle (55.86), 10th in the 100 butterfly (1:02.04), and 12th in the 50 frees (25.51).
  • Sophomore Meika Gathy (Waterford, Conn.) in two events – 11th in the 1650 free (19:46.61) and 12th in the 200 free (2:08.60).
  • Freshman Eliza Miller (Richmond, Ky.) with an 11th place finish in the 200 fly (2:32.45)
  • And senior Liz Grove (Winchester, Va.) with a 12th place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:20.41)

Up next, the Mariners will travel to Old Westbury on Friday night, Dec. 8, for a Skyline Conference tri-meet against the host Panthers and St. Joseph's of Long Island. First event is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Old Westbury's Clark Athletic Center Pool.
