NEW YORK (Feb. 6, 2016) – The USMMA men's and women's swimming & diving teams sent a total of six divers – three men and three women – to compete at the NYU Invitational on Saturday at the Violets' Palladium Athletic Facility.
Senior Geritt Porter (Houston, Texas) won both the one- and three-meter competitions with scores of 288.05 and 327.70, respectively. Sophomore Adam Fisher (Edgerton, Wisc.) finished in fourth place in the one-meter (252.20) and fifth in the three-meter (220.30) and freshman David Argueta (Englewood, N.J.) came in seventh in both boards - 178.75 in one-meter and 168.75 in three.
For the women, junior Blythe Fentress (Shady Shores, Texas) and freshman Kara Korengel (Cincinnati, Ohio) flipped third and fourth place finishes in both boards, as Fentress was third in the one-meter (222.95) and fourth in the three-meter (225.60), while Korengel was fourth in one-meter (199.75) and third from three-meter (231.30). Sophomore Briana Buderus (Flower Mound, Texas) came in fifth in both the one-meter (183.85) and the three-meter (188.95).
The entire USMMA men's and women's swim & dive teams will be back in action next weekend, when they compete in the 2016 Landmark Championship Meet. The men will look to capture their ninth-straight Landmark title, while the women look to improve on their fourth-place finish from last year.
