Mariners Finish in Top-Half of Field at Metropolitan Championships

The USMMA women's swimming and diving team finished ninth out of 19 teams at the 2013 Metropolitan Championships.  The highlight of the event was the combination of Jacqueline White (Oradell, NJ), Emily Boyson (Garland, TX), Emily Olsen (Glenwood, NJ), and Megan Rumbles (Fenton, MI) establishing a new Academy record in the 400 medley relay by clocking in at 4:10.44.  The time propelled the Mariners to the top spot in the B final and ninth-place overall.

Alexandra Biehn (Burnsville, MN) claimed fifth-place in the 1650 free with a time of 18:29.72, narrowly missing her own Academy record.  Boyson scored again for USMMA as she hit the wall in 1:08.96 to take 12th in the 100 breast.

White had a superb weekend for Merchant Marine as she scored in three individual events.  She started to rack up the points by taking 13th in the 100 fly in 1:01.23.  White also earned a sixth-place finish with a 2:08.93 mark in the 200 backstroke.  The sophomore wrapped up her solid weekend by taking fifth-place in the 200 fly.

The USMMA women's swimming team wraps up the 2012-13 season having established five new Academy records and finishing in the top-half of both the Landmark Conference and Metropolitan Championships.
