Women's Swimming & Diving Falls to Division I-Foe Iona, 139-82

KINGS POINT, N.Y. - On Monday night, the United States Merchant Marine Academy women's swimming and diving squad traveled to New Rochelle, N.Y. and lost to Division I-opponent Iona College, 139-82. 

Casey Roth season-bested in the 1,000-freestyle by two seconds (12:40.37), while Casey Moore notched a season-best and won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:12.64).

Team captain Elizabeth Peterson recorded a pair of season-best clockings tonight. In the 100-yard butterfly, Peterson SB'ed by four seconds (1:26.14), while in the 100-breaststroke, she SB'ed by one second with a mark of 1:27.87.

Head Coach Sean Tedesco and the Mariners return to action on Feb. 11-13 when they host the 2010-11 Landmark Conference Swimming & Diving Championships at the O'Hara Pool.
