Bunce Selected As Centennial Wrestler Of The Week; Moves Up To #7 In Latest D3Wrestle.Com National Poll

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Jan. 22, 2019) – On Monday, the Centennial Conference announced that it selected USMMA senior Blake Bunce (Trophy Club, Texas) as the league's Wrestler of the Week for the week ending Jan. 20. The honor comes after Bunce's performances in the Mariners' two Centennial victories this past weekend at a tri-match hosted by Gettysburg.

In Merchant Marine's first match of the day, a 35-14 win over the host Bullets, Bunce pinned the nationally-ranked #9 (NWCA)/#6 (d3wrestle) wrestler at heavyweight, senior Paul Triandafilou in 3:32. In the second match, a 34-10 neutral-site win over McDaniel, Bunce pinned Chris Hauffman in just 1:41.

Bunce now has a 25-2 overall record this season, including 13 pins.
