KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Aug. 7, 2018) – On Monday, the Centennial Conference continued its celebration of its first 25 years by announcing the Silver Anniversary Team for the sport of wrestling. A total of five former Mariners were honored among the best wrestlers throughout the conference's first quarter-century - Philip Greene '10, Jordan Alfaro '11, Dan Twito '11, Vincent Renaut '11, and Ricky Fisher '16.
For inclusion on a Silver Anniversary team, a student must have a degree from one of the Conference institutions and met one of the following qualifications:
- 3-time or 4-time first-team All-Centennial performer
- 2-time Centennial Conference Player of the Year
- 1st team All-America AND 2-time first-team All-Centennial performer
- 2-time All-America (1st, 2nd or 3rd team)
There were a total of 42 men named to the Silver Anniversary team in wrestling. Of those 42, only two won NCAA individual titles and they both hailed from USMMA - Vincent Renaut (165lb., 2010) and Dan Twito (157lb., 2011).
