KINGS POINT, N.Y. (March 9, 2016) – USMMA senior wrestler Ricky Fisher (Nashville, Tenn.) will travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, this weekend to take part in the NCAA Division III National Championship Meet, hosted by Cornell College at the U.S. Cellular Center. It's the second straight year that Fisher will represent the Mariners at the national event.

Fisher will begin his quest for the National Championship tomorrow morning, Friday, March 11, when he takes on Lakeland College senior Eddie Terres in a wrestle-in bout of the 197-pound bracket. The winner will go on to face the bracket's #7 seed Mikey Swider of Wheaton (Ill.), while the loser will move to the wrestle-backs for a shot at a potential third-place finish.

Fisher enters nationals with an overall record of 27-7 and is coming off a second-place finish at the NCAA Eastern Regional two weekends ago. He also earned his second-straight Centennial Conference Championships back in early February.

His first round opponent, Terres, has compiled a mark of 18-13 thus far this season for the Muskies. He placed third at the NCAA Western Regional. Potential second-round opponent, Swider, boasts a 4-1 record for the Wheaton Thunder and placed third at regionals in the Midwest.
