Four Mariners Nab All-Centennial Postseason Accolades; Twito & Fisher Earn Academic Honors As Well

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Feb. 18, 2016) – The Centennial Conference announced the 2015-16 postseason awards for wrestling on Wednesday and four Mariners were recognized by the conference, while two of the four were also named to the 2016 Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll.

Senior Ricky Fisher (Nashville, Tenn.) and junior Nathan Twito (Ames, Iowa) landed on the First Team All-Conference after their individual championships at 197 and 149, respectively, this past weekend at the Centennial Championships. Both Fisher and Twito were also named to the Academic Honor Roll, which recognizes sophomores, juniors and seniors who are All-Conference members and have a 3.40 cumulative grade point average or higher.

Senior Mike Mui (Hingham, Mass.) and freshman Brandon Joest (Kendallville, Ind.) both earned All-Centennial honorable mention accolades for their second-place finishes at 125 and 285, respectively, at the Centennial Championships.

The Mariners return to the mats Feb. 27-28, when they take part in the NCAA Eastern Regional Meet in Lexington, Va. At the event, the squad will look to qualify wrestlers for the National Championships, which will be held March 11-12. A live video feed of the Eastern Regionals can be found by following this link.
