USMMA Wrestlers Shine at Long Island Invitational

Kings Point, NY – Branden Yeik (Bremerton, WA) captured first-place at 157 pounds as the Mariners had their strongest performance of the 2012-13 season over the weekend at the Long Island Invitational.  Overall, Merchant Marine totaled five place-winners.

Freshman Mat Watson (Cocoa Beach, FL) took third-place at 141 pounds while classmate Ricky Fisher (Nashville, TN) also earned third-place, competing at 197 pounds.  Sam Fry (Sturgis, MI) made it a trio of Mariners who finished third as he had a solid day at 184 pounds.  Tyler Russell (Georgetown, ME) placed fourth at 197 pounds to round out the USMMA place-winners.

Merchant Marine returns to action Tuesday night at 7:00 pm for a road dual meet against Hunter.
