Before USMMA: Watson competed in varsity wrestling and swimming while at Cocoa Beach High School. He was a three-time team captain and conference champion. Watson was also a three-time NHSCA All-American as well as all-county selection. He captred a pair of all-state honors, fininshing second in 2010 and sixth in 2009.
