    On Saturday, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women’s lacrosse team was defeated by St. Joseph’s of Long Island, 17-6, in a road Skyline Conference contest out in Suffolk County. The Mariners’ record falls to 4-6 (2-4 Skyline) with the loss, while the Golden Eagles improve to 7-8 (6-1 Skyline).

    On Thursday night at Brooks Stadium, the USMMA women’s lacrosse team suffered a 15-2 setback at the hands of Skyline opponent Farmingdale State. The loss drops the Mariners’ record to an even 4-4 (2-2 Skyline) on the season, while the Rams improve to 11-1 (4-0 Skyline) with the victory.
  • Whitenack, Willard & Hicks Land On Skyline Weekly Honor Rolls

    The Skyline Conference announced late on Monday that three USMMA student-athletes were selected to their respective sports’ weekly honor rolls for their performances in the week ending April 9 – senior Chris Whitenack (East Meadow, N.Y.) for men’s lacrosse, sophomore Meredith Willard (Portland, Maine) for women’s lacrosse and senior James Hicks (Haddon Heights, N.J.) for men’s tennis.

    The USMMA women’s lacrosse team lost to Skyline Conference opponent Old Westbury, 10-5, on the road Saturday afternoon at OW’s Panther Park. In defeat, the Mariners fall to 4-3 (2-1 Skyline), while the Panthers improve to 3-7 (2-1 Skyline) with the victory.
  • Willard Reaches 100 Career Points In 15-3 Road Skyline Win At SUNY Maritime

    Sophomore Meredith Willard (Portland, Maine) reached the 100-career point plateau on Wednesday night, as she tied for the game-high with seven points in USMMA’s 15-3 road Skyline Conference victory over SUNY Maritime at the Privateers’ Reinhart Field. The win improves the Mariners’ record to 4-2 (2-0 Skyline), while Maritime falls to 1-5 (1-1 Skyline) with the loss.
  • Parker Named Skyline WLAX Rookie Of The Week, Willard Selected To Weekly Honor Roll

    On Monday, the Skyline Conference announced that USMMA women’s lacrosse freshman Angela Parker (Bowie, Md.) was selected as the league’s Rookie of the Week and sophomore Meredith Willard (Portland, Maine) earned a weekly honor roll nod. These accolades come after the duo led the Mariners to a 1-1 week last week with a close 10-7 home loss to Ramapo on Tuesday followed by a 14-10 home Skyline win over Sage.

    On Saturday, the USMMA women’s lacrosse team defeated visiting Skyline Conference opponent Sage, 14-10, at Brooks Stadium. The victory was the program’s first-ever triumph in conference action. With the win, the Mariners improve to 3-2 (1-0 Skyline), while the Gators fall to 1-6 (0-2 Skyline).
  • Mariners Fall To Ramapo, 10-7, At Home Tuesday Night

    The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women’s lacrosse team was defeated at home in a non-conference contest by visiting Ramapo College, 10-7, on a rainy Tuesday night at Brooks Stadium. In defeat, the Mariners fall to an even 2-2 on the season, while the Roadrunners improve to 5-3 with the victory.
  • Four Spring Student-Athletes Land On Respective Sports’ Skyline Weekly Honor Rolls

    The Skyline Conference announced their weekly award winners Monday evening and four USMMA student-athletes earned recognition on their respective sports’ weekly honor rolls – senior James Hicks (Haddon Heights, N.J.) for tennis, junior pitcher Justus Martin (Eaton, Colo.) for baseball, classmate Nick Treon (Danville, Pa.) for men’s lacrosse and sophomore Meredith Willard (Portland, Maine) for women’s lacrosse.

    The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women’s lacrosse team had suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday in a 14-5 home defeat to New Paltz at Brooks Stadium. The Mariners fall to 2-1 on the year, while the Hawks improve to 3-1.

    On Monday, the Skyline Conference announced that, for the second-straight time, USMMA freshman Grace McHugh (Sturbridge, Mass.) has garnered the league’s Rookie of the Week honor for women’s lacrosse. Additionally, sophomore Maura Malone (Yorktown, Va.) was selected to the weekly honor roll.

    The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women’s lacrosse team defeated arch-rival Coast Guard, 12-11, on Saturday in their 2017 Superintendents’ Trophy contest up at the Coast Guard Academy. The Mariners improve to 2-0 on the season, while the Bears fall to 1-4.

    The Skyline Conference announced late Monday that USMMA sophomore Meredith Willard (Portland, Maine) and freshman Grace McHugh (Sturbridge, Mass.) swept the league’s weekly honors. Willard was selected as the Player of the Week and McHugh earned Rookie of the Week accolades.

    U.S. Merchant Marine Academy fifth-year women’s lacrosse head coach Kyle Simensky announced the schedule for the Mariners’ upcoming 2017 season on Tuesday. The Mariners are coming off their best year in program history, as they finished the 2016 campaign with an 8-6 record, the first winning season at Kings Point.
  • Simensky Adds Former DI All-American Maegan Meritz To Women’s Lacrosse Coaching Staff

    Coming off the best season in program history, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy fifth-year head women’s lacrosse coach Kyle Simensky announced on Thursday that Maegan Meritz will be joining his coaching staff this year as an assistant coach. She officially came on board this Monday, Nov. 14.
  • Willard Named 2016 ECAC DIII Metro/Upstate Women's Lacrosse Rookie Of The Year

    In early June, the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its postseason honors for the 2016 women’s lacrosse season and USMMA freshman Meredith Willard (Portland, Maine) was selected as the Rookie of the Year among all eligible first-year student-athletes in the Division III Metropolitan/Upstate Region.

    The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy held its 2016 Awards Convocation on Friday morning at the Ackerman Auditorium as part of Graduation Weekend festivities. Four major athletic award winners were announced during the ceremony – the Male and Female Athletes of the Year as well as the two Coaches of the Year – along with a number of other athletic awards and honors.

    The six U.S. Merchant Marine Academy spring teams garnered a total of 23 student-athletes, collectively, on the Landmark Conference Spring Honor Roll, the league announced on Tuesday morning. In total, 418 student-athletes received recognition from the conference’s nine institutions.
  • Willard Named Landmark WLAX Rookie Of The Year, Simensky Coach Of The Year, Gizzi Lands On First Team

    The Landmark Conference announced the postseason awards for Women’s Lacrosse on Thursday and for the first time in program history USMMA had three individuals honored. Freshman Meredith Willard (Portland, Maine) was selected by the league head coaches as the Rookie of the Year and earned a spot on the Second Team Attack, Head Coach Kyle Simensky was named the Coach of the Year and freshman Hannah Gizzi (Finksburg, Md.) was chosen as the First Team Goalie.

    The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women’s lacrosse team used a strong second half to erase a five-goal deficit and defeat arch-rival Coast Guard, 10-9, in overtime on the road Tuesday night. The win improves the Mariners’ record to 7-5 overall, while the Bears fall to 2-14 in defeat.
  • Reilly Named ECAC DIII Metro/Upstate Women’s Lacrosse Rookie Of The Week

    On Tuesday, the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced that USMMA freshman midfielder Jessica Reilly (Sayville, N.Y.) was named the Division III Women’s Lacrosse Metro/Upstate Rookie of the Week. Reilly becomes the first Mariner in program history to earn this accolade.

    The USMMA women’s lacrosse team reached the 20-goal mark in a single game for the first time in program history during its 20-13 home win over Moravian on Wednesday evening. The Mariners improve to 6-4 on the season, while the Greyhounds fall to 6-7.

    The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women's lacrosse team won on the road for the first time in program history on Monday afternoon, topping the College of Saint Elizabeth, 19-3, in New Jersey. The Mariners improve to 5-4 on the season with the victory, while the Eagles fall to 1-10.
