KINGS POINT, N.Y. (April 8, 2019) – The Skyline Conference announced on Monday night that USMMA senior Meredith Willard (Portland, Maine) and freshman Jessie Wohner (Norfolk, Va.) swept the league's weekly award for women's lacrosse, with Willard earning Player of the Week honors and Wohner named the Rookie of the Week. The praise comes after the duo's performances in the Mariners' two home Skyline victories last week, on Wednesday against Farmingdale State (12-4) and on Friday against Mount St. Vincent (14-3).
Willard had a team-best 12 points on 11 goals and one assist over the two games. She scooped up seven groundballs and secured six draw controls, while also causing two turnovers on the week.
Wohner recorded nine points on seven goals and two assists in the two victories. This is the fourth-straight week that she has been named the Skyline Rookie of the Week.

Statistically, senior Hannah Gizzi (Finksburg, Md.) ranks among the very best among Division III goalies, as she is that national leader with a 4.35 goals against average and her .591 save percentage ranks second in the country.
As a team, Merchant Marine ranks in the top-25 in the nation in five different categories listed below.
- Tied for first in the country with just five other teams with a perfect 1.000 winning percentage
- First in the nation in scoring defense with just 4.22 goals allowed per game
- Second in DIII with a .591 team save percentage
- Fifth in the country with a +10.89 scoring margin
- and 19th in the nation with just 15.33 turnovers per game
