KINGS POINT, N.Y. (April 5, 2019) – The USMMA women's lacrosse team cruised past visiting Skyline opponent Mount St. Vincent, 14-3, on Friday night at Brooks Stadium. The win keeps the Mariners unbeaten at 9-0 (2-0 Skyline), while the Dolphins fall to 4-3 (1-1 Skyline) with the loss. 

Senior Meredith Willard (Portland, Maine) led all players with seven points on the night with six goals and one assist, while freshman Jessie Wohner (Norwalk, Va.) recorded five points on three goals and two assists. Four other Mariners had two points each – senior Maura Malone (Yorktown, Va.) and junior Grace McHugh (Sturbridge, Mass.) with two goals apiece, freshman Maddie Schmidt (Mechanicsville, Va.) with a goal and an assist, and senior Jessica Reilly (Sayville, N.Y.) with a pair of helpers. 

Defensively, the Mariners caused a total of 11 turnovers, with freshman Cara Bebey (Fairfield, Conn.) leading all players with three, while Reilly and Willard both had two each. Malone scooped up a game-high four groundballs, while Willard and freshman Helen Davis (Dagsboro, Del.) had three apiece. Schmidt led everyone on the night with five draw controls. 

Senior goalie Hannah Gizzi (Finksburg, Md.) made seven saves to earn the victory. 

The Dolphins had three different goal-scorers in the game – junior Paulina Mandujano and sophomores Emma Dell'Aquila and Caitlin Elia. Sophomore Morgan Pavlik had a team-best four draw controls, while Dell'Aquila scooped up three groundballs to lead CMSV. Sophomore goalie Allyson Weakliem made 12 saves over the 60 minutes, while also causing a team-high two turnovers.
