Fellow junior Maura Malone (Yorktown, Va.) found the back of the net four times and also had three draw controls, while classmate Elizabeth Livi (Fair Lawn, N.J.) also scored for Merchant Marine and sophomore Elena Chamberland (Lakeland, Fla.) added an assist.

In net, junior Hannah Gizzi (Finksburg, Md.) made nine saves – eight or which came in the second half – to earn the victory, while also picking up four groundballs.

After the Mavericks scored the first goal of the day, the Mariners responded with six of the next seven to go up 6-2 at 16:50 of the opening half. They finished the frame with five of the next eight goals to expand their advantage to 11-5 at halftime.

Medaille came out strong to start the second half, scoring three of the first four goals to make it a four-goal game, 12-8, at 23:25. However, the Mariners scored the next seven straight goals to cruise on to the victory.

The Mavericks were led by junior Kelsey Beres and freshman Alexis Ackerson, who both scored three times in the game.
