UNION, N.J. (March 9, 2018) – The USMMA women's lacrosse team lost its non-conference matchup at Kean University, 17-6, on Friday afternoon at the Cougars' Kean Alumni Stadium. The defeat drops the Mariners' record to 1-1 on the season, while KU improves to 2-0.
The game was close in the first half, as the Mariners trailed just 4-3 after the first 30 minutes. However, Kean scored six of the first seven goals of the second half to build up a 10-4 lead and used that momentum to claim the victory.

Reilly also registered a game-high eight draw controls and five caused turnovers to go along with a team-best five groundballs. Midas contributed three GBs and two CTs, while junior Maura Malone (Yorktown, Va.) picked up three groundballs.
Between the pipes, junior goalie Hannah Gizzi (Finksburg, Md.) made 10 saves over the full 60 minutes.
