KINGS POINT, N.Y. (April 29, 2017) – On Saturday afternoon, the USMMA women's lacrosse team ended the 2017 season with a 16-4 home victory over Skyline Conference opponent Mount St. Vincent at Brooks Stadium. With the victory, the Mariners closed out the year with a 5-7 record (3-5 Skyline), while the Dolphins fell to 2-13 (0-8 Skyline) to end their season.

Prior to the game, Merchant Marine paid tribute to their three graduating seniors with a special Senior Day ceremony honoring Gabby Marionakis (Royal Palm Beach, Fla.), Emily Finnin (Littleton, Colo.) and A Jordan Pappas (Howell, N.J.). The trio have been a part of every single victory the USMMA women's lacrosse program has picked up, all over the past four seasons.

Seven different players found the back of the net for Merchant Marine, including one who scored her first of the season – Finnin – and two others that scored the firsts of their careers – freshmen Sage Hicks-Fredenberg (Rockledge, Fla.), who finished with two goals and one assist, and Cristina Biendicho (Panama City, Panama).

Freshman Grace McHugh (Sturbridge, Mass.) tied her career-high with nine points on a career-best seven goals to go along with two assists. Classmate Angela Parker (Bowie, Md.) added two goals and two assists and Pappas contributed two tallies. Junior Sarah Milafsky (Aurora, Colo.) chipped in with one goal and one helper and freshman Elena Chamberland (Lakeland, Fla.) dished out one assist, the first of her career.
