McHugh Named Skyline Rookie Of The Week Again; Malone Lands On Honor Roll

NEW YORK (March 20, 2017) – On Monday, the Skyline Conference announced that, for the second-straight time, USMMA freshman Grace McHugh (Sturbridge, Mass.) has garnered the league's Rookie of the Week honor for women's lacrosse. Additionally, sophomore Maura Malone (Yorktown, Va.) was selected to the weekly honor roll.

McHugh scored four times in the Mariners' exciting 12-11 road win at arch-rival Coast Guard on Saturday. Her last tally with about five minutes left in the second half proved to be the game-winner. The rookie currently ranks second in the Skyline with 10 goals, while her 5.0 goals per game are good for first.

Malone recorded a game-high five points to lead all players in the game on Saturday. She scored three times and dished out two assists, including one on the game-winner. She also had a major caused turnover on transition in the final minutes to help USMMA seal the victory.
