The victory improves the Mariners' record to 8-5 overall and guarantees the squad its first winning season in program history, while the Panthers fall to 5-11.

Prior to the game, the women's lax program paid tribute to its two graduating seniors – Rachel Smith (Broomfield, Colo.) and Breanna Linsley (Henderson, Nev.) – with a special Senior Night ceremony.

On the field, freshmen Meredith Willard (Portland, Maine) and Jessica Reilly (Sayville, N.Y.) both found the back of the net six times. Willard also added three assists to lead all players in the game with nine points. Classmates Ellen Carpenter (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) and Maura Malone (Yorktown, Va.) also scored for the Mariners, as Carpenter registered four goals and Malone contributed three.

Both Reilly and Malone recorded a team-high five draw controls each, while the duo along with fellow freshmen Catherine Livi (Fair Lawn, N.J.) and Hannah Gizzi (Finksburg, Md.) tied for the game-high with three groundballs apiece. In goal, Gizzi made 12 saves to record her eighth victory of the season.
