KINGS POINT, N.Y. (April 26, 2016) – On Tuesday, the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced that USMMA freshman midfielder Jessica Reilly (Sayville, N.Y.) was named the Division III Women's Lacrosse Metro/Upstate Rookie of the Week. Reilly becomes the first Mariner in program history to earn this accolade.
The honor comes after Reilly's performances in the Mariners' three games last week. The rookie led the Mariners with 15 points over the three contests. She notched new career-highs in back-to-back non-conference victories – scoring seven goals in a 19-3 road win over Saint Elizabeth on Monday and then finding the back of the net seven times once again on Wednesday in a 20-13 home victory over Moravian, while also dishing out an assist for a career-high eight points. Reilly also recorded 10 groundballs, eight draw controls and nine caused turnovers over the three games.
