Allentown, PA - Muhlenberg defeated the USMMA women's lacrosse team 14-0 Saturday afternoon. Stephanie Umbach and Ally Shaffer both netted two goals for Muhlenberg as 12 different players registered a goal for the home side. Kelly Allison (Palos Verdes, CA) tallied five saves for the Mariners as well as one ground ball.
Merchant Marine (0-4) was paced by the two draw controls of Kristen Bell (New City, NY) and the two ground balls from Breanna Linsley (Henderson, NV).
Muhlenberg (3-1) forced 17 USMMA turnovers and outshot the Mariners 23-2 overall. Brigid Noone finished the afternoon with a game high three caused turnovers while Umbach brought-in seven draw controls.
The USMMA women's lacrosse team returns to action Tuesday, March 19 against Old Westbury for a game that will be played at Brooks Stadium.
