The Rams countered with an 8-0 run to tie it up at 18 on a three-pointer at 6:03. Merchant Marine outscored Farmingdale State 9-5 down the stretch to hold a 27-23 lead at halftime.

The Rams would trim the deficit down to one point twice early in the third, as a three-pointer at 9:19 made it 27-26, and another triple at 7:14 to cut it down to 29-28. The Mariners responded later in the frame with an 8-2 to end the third up 37-30. USMMA pulled away in fourth quarter, increasing the lead to as much as 15, 53-38 at 1:53 before taking it 53-40.
