D’Arcy Earns League-Best Fifth Skyline Rookie Of The Week Honor Of The Season

NEW YORK (Feb. 20, 2017) – On Monday, the Skyline Conference announced that USMMA freshman Kaleigh D'Arcy (White Plains, N.Y.) was named the league's Rookie of the Week after her performances in the Mariners' two games last week. This marks D'Arcy's Skyline-best fifth Rookie of the Week distinction of the season.
 
D'Arcy tied the game-high with 14 points in big 75-25 home win over St. Joseph's-L.I. on Saturday that clinched the Mariners' first trip to a postseason tournament since 2007-08. She also brought down seven rebounds and dished out three assists in the victory. The rookie began the week with a team-high 12 points in road loss at Mount St. Mary on Tuesday.

This concluded the Skyline weekly releases for the season and, in addition to D'Arcy's five Rookie of the Week honors, the Mariners also had three players named to the weekly honor roll one time each – senior Jordy Macbeth (Orlando, Fla.), junior Samantha Drake (Centereach, N.Y.) and senior Rachel Wehlburg (Herndon, Va.).
 
The #6 seed Mariners (12-12, 8-10 Skyline) will take on #3 Sage (17-8, 13-5 Skyline) in the first round of the Skyline Conference Championships tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 21, up in Albany, N.Y. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Gators' Kahl Gymnasium. Live stats and a live video feed of the contest will be available with links on the USMMA Women's Basketball Schedule Page.
