Setting the Scene... The United States Merchant Marine Academy Mariners (7-10, 1-8) will take on the Royals of Scranton University (13-6, 5-3) Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM in Kings Point, NY.  Scranton enters the contest on the heels of a big Landmark Conference win over Juniata, while the Mariners look to avoid their first five-game losing streak since November-December of 2011.

Series History... USMMA is 0-12 all-time against the Royals, including a 63-44 loss in the Mariner's only Landmark Conference post-season appearance to date.  Earlier this year, then ranked #21 Scranton upended Merchant Marine by an 81-59 margin in Scranton, PA.

Scouting the Royals...
Scranton has a pair of players averaging double-figures on the season with sophomore forward Meredith Mesaris and senior forward Erin Boggan putting up 18.7 and 11.4 points per game respectively.  Mesaris is a frequent figure on the Landmark Conference leaderboards; leading the conference in points per game, sitting second in field goal percentage (47.8%) and third in three-point percentage (39.1%).

Piling on the Points...
