Setting the Scene... The United States Merchant Marine Academy Mariners (6-4, 1-2) will take on the Cardinals of the Catholic University of America (11-0, 1-0) Saturday night at 4:00 PM in Washington, D.C.  Catholic, ranked 20th in the nation by D3Hoops.com, comes into the contest with an unblemished 11-0 record including a Landmark Conference victory over Drew.  Merchant Marine is riding a modest two-game winning streak, upending Vaughn and NJCU in their previous two outings.

Series History... USMMA is 3-7 all-time against Catholic.  The Cardinals have won the last four meetings with the last Kings Point victory (70-56) coming in the 2009-10 season.

Catholic is well represented on the Landmark Conference leaderboards with senior guard Jill Woerner ranking fourth in points per game (18.1), senior forward Katrina Owunna ranking fourth in rebounds per game (9.3), and senior forward Kelli Josephson ranking fourth in field goal percentage (.500).

Senior Scorers...
Senior captains Tamara Kaileh (12.3 PPG) and Roshenda Josephs (9.8 PPG) have been the most consistent scoring threats for the Mariners, tallying 10 points or more in a combined 13 games.  Kaileh is coming off of a season-high 24-point performance against NJCU.  Josephs also leads the Landmark Conference in steals per game, averaging 4.1 on the season.

High-Percentage Shots...
USMMA will look to find the open player and create high-percentage scoring chances.  In 2012-13, when shooting 40% or better from the field, the Mariners are 3-0.  They are 0-2 when shooting below 30%.
