Mariner women drop a tough one to Rutgers-Camden

KINGS POINT, N.Y. –  The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women came close to surprising Rutgers-Camden, but lost the non-conference basketball game, 69-62, to the Lady Raptors at Liebertz Gymnasium on Saturday.

Emily Meehan came off the bench to score a team-high 13 points and Tamara Kaileh added 12 for the Mariners (1-2).

Brittany Turner, who was blanked in the first half, scored 19 points in the final half to pace the Lady Raptors (7-1).

The Mariners host St. Joseph's on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
