Rebecca Grimes Receives All-Landmark Second Team Accolades

MADISON, N.J. – On Friday morning, the Landmark Conference office issued its 2010-11 All-League women's basketball squads and senior guard Rebecca Grimes (Fairfax, Va.) of the United States Merchant Marine Academy was named to the Second Team for her stellar season. This marks her second all-conference selection.

Grimes finished seventh in the conference in scoring by averaging 12.5 points per game. The Fairfax native led the league in free throw percentage with an 84.3% clip from the charity stripe, while her shooting percentage from behind the three-point line slotted her ninth (32.6%). In addition, Grimes showed impressive durability and stamina this year as she averaged 31.8 minutes per game, which was good for fourth in the Landmark.

This season, Grimes netted her 1,000th-career point on February 12 versus Catholic University, becoming just the fourth Mariner to ever do so. She eventually moved into third place on the all-time Kings Point women's basketball scoring list with 1,025 points.

USMMA finished with a 7-18 overall record this season.
