A current resident of Port Washington, N.Y., Igor Zolotarev is
entering his eighth year with the Mariners as head coach of the
pistol team.
Zoloterev brings a wealth of experience to USMMA, acting as the
Assistant National Coach for the USA Olympic Team since 2004, the
head coach of the Sports Club “Louch” in Moscow from
1976-1989, the Coach of the Moscow Pistol Team for air and free
pistol, 1979-1983 and the head coach of the Moscow Junior Team from
1983-1987.
He also acts as consulting coach for Olympic Champions: A.
Melentiev, B. Kokorev, M. Nestruev and World Champions: S.
Pyzhianov, V. Isakov and A. Danilov.
In his shooting career, Zolotarev has earned many honors
including:

1978 Grand Prize of Europe
1981 National Air Gun Competition, USSR
1993 Champion of California
2006 - Two Gold medals at the USA Championship, senior
category
1997-99 - Six Gold medals at Empire State Games, in air and free
pistol
Champion of International Competitions in Poland, Czech Republic,
Belgium, Hungary and Germany
Champion of the USSR, 1975-77, ’79, ’81 in air, free
and standard pistol;
Zolotarev graduated from Moscow State University with a B.A. in
journalism and earned his masters in physical education with a
major in shooting sports from the National Central Institute of
Physical Culture in Moscow.
