Washington, DC – The USMMA men's cross country team finished third in the seven team field at the 2013 Landmark Conference Championships held Saturday. Freshman Daniel Wolfer took 11th place overall and was the top finisher for the Mariners. His time of 28:01 on the 8k course also earned him Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year honors as the top first-time competitor in the 77 runner field.
Sophomore Brendan Dooley (Herbon, KY) finished in 16th as he crossed the finish line with a time of 28:33. Classmate Andrew Walsh (Granville, OH) made it three Mariners to crack the top-20 as he stopped the clock in 28:45. A pair of juniors finished back-to-back in 26th and 27th with David McGowan (Clarksville, MD) and Anthony Konecni (Boise, ID) posted times within three seconds of each other, respectively.
Susquehanna placed four runners in the top-five as the Crusaders captured the 2013 Landmark Conference Championship in dominating fashion. The USMMA men's cross country team competes again next weekend at the ECAC Championships.
