SOUTH HUNTINGTON, N.Y. (Feb. 11, 2017) – On Saturday, the USMMA men's track & field team competed at the St. Joseph's Winter Invitational, hosted by St. Joseph's of Long Island at St. Anthony's High School. As a team, the Mariner men finished in 12th place at the event with 10 points.
 
Sophomore David Collins (North Kingstown, R.I.) claimed six of those points with a third place finish in the weight throw event with a toss of 14.84 meters (48' 8.25"). Junior Blase Neumann (Spokane, Wash.) earned the other four points by placing fourth in the pole vault. He cleared 3.83 meters with his vault (12' 11.5").
 
The Mariners had two other top-10 finishes, as senior Daniel Wolfer (Hebron, Ky.) came in eighth place in the 3,000 meter run in 9:23.41 and the 4x400 relay team of freshmen Isaiah Rodriguez (Fairfield, N.J.) and Michael Dobkowski (Merrick, N.Y.) and senior Cameron Green (Lancaster, Calif.) and junior Matthew Pari (Marlboro, N.J.) placed eighth with a time of 3:38.80.
 
Up next, the Mariners will travel to Haverford, Pa., next Saturday, Feb. 18, to take part in Haverford College's Keogh Invitational. Action is set to get underway at 11 a.m. at the Fords' Alumni Field House.
