USMMA Men Only Results
MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (Feb. 4, 2017) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men's track & field teams competed in the Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday up in Connecticut. The Mariners had three top-five finishes at the event.
The head-to-head matchup against Coast Guard has not been decided yet and when it is, this recap will be updated at this link.
Individually, sophomore David Collins (North Kingstown, R.I.) placed fourth in the weight throw event with a toss of 15.03 meters (49' 3.75"), while freshman Michael Dobkowski (Merrick, N.Y.) came in fifth in the 800 meter run in 2:04.74.
The 4x800 meter relay squad of Dobkowski, senior Cameron Green (Lancaster, Calif.), junior Matthew Pari (Marlboro, N.J.) and senior Conor McWeeney (Lake Oswego, Ore.) crossed fourth with a time of 8:48.48.
Up next, the Mariners will compete in the St. Joseph's Winter Invitational next Saturday, Feb. 11, out at St. Anthony's High School in South Huntington, N.Y. The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
