TOWSON, Md. (March 28, 2016) – The Landmark Conference announced the men's track & field weekly honors on Monday and USMMA freshman long distance runner Connor Cole (Alpharetta, Ga.) was named the Athlete of the Week after his performance in the Mariners' outdoor season opening meet on Saturday at Monmouth University in New Jersey.
Cole finished in sixth place in the men's 10K race at the 21st Annual Monmouth Season Opener. He crossed the finish line in 33:19.79, which was a better time than three Division I runners and two Division II runners. This is Cole's first weekly honor for the track & field season, but his third overall so far in his young career at USMMA – he earned Landmark Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors twice back in the fall (Sept. 21 and Oct. 12).

Cole and the rest of the Mariner track & field teams are back in action this Saturday, April 2, when they travel to New London, Conn., to take part in the CGA Spring Invitational, hosted by Coast Guard.
