Men’s 4 x 200 Meter Relay Team Competes at ECAC Indoor Champs.

NEW YORK, N.Y. – On Saturday, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men's indoor track and field squad sent its 4 x 200 meter relay team of senior Brandon Barrett (Kingwood, Texas), junior Hunter Karass (Marlboro, N.J.), and rookies Tyler McDaniel (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Mickel McGann (Ocala, Fla.) to the ECAC Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Armory in New York City. The foursome finished 21st overall with a clocking of 1:33.21.

The squad finished 21st out of the 43 teams that qualified. That time of 1:33.21 was a season's best performance, even if the banked track conversion is taken into account.

"It was a first experience at a championship meet for these individuals. It was a great experience for them to take to future meets of this magnitude. Our team ran very well and it was a great end to the indoor season," Head Coach Gregory Lott commented.

NOTE: Senior Joshua Norris (San Marcos, Texas) elected not to compete in the high jump.

Head Coach Gregory Lott and the Mariners return to action on Saturday, March 26, when they open the outdoor season at the United States Military Academy in West Point, N.Y.
