Terselic & Fisher Named CSCAA Honorable Mention Scholar All-Americans; Both Men’s & Women’s Squads Earn Team Awards

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (July 10, 2017) – Late last month, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced the individual and team Scholar All-America honors for the 2016-17 season. Two members of the USMMA men's swimming & diving team earned Honorable Mention Scholar All-American recognition – graduated-senior John Terselic (Tijeras, N.M.) and rising-senior diver Adam Fisher (Edgerton, Wis.).

To earn Honorable Mention Scholar All-American accolades, Terselic and Fisher garnered individual GPAs of 3.50 or higher while also achieving an NCAA "B-Cut" time standard or competing at a regional or zone qualifying meet.

Terselic earned a B-Cut at the 2017 Metropolitan Championship Meet when he touched second in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:04.44. Fisher, who is receiving this honor for the second-straight season, qualified for and competed in the NCAA Diving Regionals after attaining qualifying marks numerous times throughout the season.

"I am happy for John and Adam for succeeding both in the pool and in the classroom," commented head coach Sean Tedesco. "This is a well-deserved award."

Additionally, both the men's and women's squads were recognized as Scholar All-America Teams by the CSCAA. This is the second-straight season that both programs have earned this great distinction. To be selected as a Scholar All-America Team, programs must have achieved a grade point average of 3.00 or higher over the spring semester.

"I am proud of our programs for achieving Team Academic All-American honors," added Tedesco. "They worked hard over the course of year to accomplish this goal."
