CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (Feb. 25, 2017) – Two USMMA divers, senior Blythe Fentress (Shady Shores, Texas) and junior Adam Fisher (Edgerton, Wis.), competed at the NCAA Division III Region 3 Championships this past weekend at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The two had a chance to earn berths to the NCAA National Championships with top-7 finishes.
On Friday, Fentress placed 22nd in the one-meter event with a score of 382.70, while Fisher came in 17th place in the three-meter dive with a 382.20.
Fentress finished in 16th on Saturday in the three-meter dive after she posted a 400.85. Fisher ended the competition for Merchant Marine with a 19th place showing in the one-meter event with a score of 355.10.
The USMMA swimming & diving program will now await the announcement of invitations to the National Championships for the two men's swimmers that earned NCAA B-Cuts – seniors Karl Sasse (Frederick, Md.) and John Terselic (Tijera, N.M.). The announcement is expected to be made in early March.
