Record-Breaking Performance Earns Porter Landmark Weekly Honor

TOWSON, Md. (Jan. 26, 2016) – Senior Gerrit Porter (Houston, Texas) was named the Landmark Conference Men's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week on Monday after his record-breaking performance for the Mariners on Friday night in a road loss at #7 NYU. This is the second time this season that he has earned the honor – the first coming back on Nov. 23.

Porter won both the one- and three- meter diving competitions against the Violets and his score of 367.95 in the three-meter event broke the previous Academy record of 366.38, which was set by NCAA National Champion Nick Halbach back in 2008. He also scored a 325.20 in the one-meter dive.
