Freshmen Shine as USMMA Downs Queens in Dual Meet

Kings Point, NY – The USMMA men's swimming and diving team opened up its dual meet schedule with a 142-67 rout of Queens College.  Freshman Kevin Sweetman (Austin, TX) earned Mariner of the Meet accolades and was victorious in the 500 freestyle.  Classmate Michael Havenar (Palmer Lake, CO) won his first collegiate dual meet race with a time of 10:40.69 in the 1,000 freestyle.

Austin Butt (Westminster, MD) hit the wall first in the 50 and 100 freestyle, clocking in at 22.27 and 48.78 seconds, respectively.  Joshua Jepsen (San Diego, CA) also won his first collegiate dual meet race with a time of 2:05.69 in the 200 IM. 

Stone Hewitt (Destin, FL) posted a lifetime best of 54.08 seconds as he touched first in the 100 butterfly.  John TerselicRyan Mavity (St. Joseph, MI) also took first-place in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. 

The USMMA men's swimming and diving team takes to the pool again this Saturday at Landmark Conference rival Marywood.
