Kings Point, NY – The USMMA men's swimming and diving team defeated Landmark Conference rival Scranton, 176-117, Saturday at O'Hara Pool. The program honored its graduating seniors before competition began. The Mariners were strong from start to finish, winning 11 of the 16 events on the schedule.
Senior Chris Scott (Andover, KS) had an outstanding day, taking first-place in three events. He was the first to touch the wall in the 100 and 200 breaststroke as well as the 200 yard individual medley. William Porter (Houston, TX) continued his superb rookie season with wins in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.
Hunter Rowan (Matthews, NC) shattered his season best by seven seconds in the 200 butterfly to take first-place in 2:03.60. Kramer trimmed two seconds off his best time in the same event to finish in second with a time of 2:06.70. Blake Krell (Fort Myers, FL) won the 200 freestyle by two seconds and also posted a season best time in the 200 backstroke.
Andrew Terselic (Tiejera, NM) set a pair of season bests with strong finishes in the 100 and 200 backstroke. Josh Sindorf (Lancaster, PA) shaved two seconds off his season best time in the 1000 freestyle to take third-place.
The Mariners will return to O'Hara Pool tomorrow afternoon for a dual meet against another Landmark Conference opponent, Marywood.
