Former Mariner Goalie Morgan Ames ’00 To Be Inducted Into USMMA Athletics Hall Of Fame

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Oct. 7, 2016) – This past Wednesday, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and the USMMA Alumni Association and Foundation announced the 2017 inductees into the USMMA Athletics Hall of Fame and among the 10 individuals chosen was former men's lacrosse goal Morgan Ames '00.
Ames was a record-setting four-year goalie for the Mariners lacrosse team. He was the NCAA Division III Statistical Champion for Saves-in-a-Season with 369 in 1999 and earned an invitation to the 2000 STX/USILA NCAA Division III North-South All-Star Game in which he started in goal for the South squad. Ames holds the USMMA career saves record with 857 and career saves percentage at .655%.
