TOWSON, Md. (April 25, 2016) – On Monday, the Landmark Conference announced its Athletes of the Week for men's lacrosse and USMMA sophomore attackman Pat Coll (Clifton Park, N.Y.) earned Offensive Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this season – he also garnered the accolade back on April 11.
The honor comes after the sophomore scored eight time, including the game-winning goal in double overtime, in the Mariners' 14-13 road victory at Catholic on Saturday. The offensive output on Saturday match his career-high for goals, which he had set earlier this season in a home win over SUNY Maritime.
Coll now has a Landmark Conference-leading 58 goals this season, while his 70 points is also tops in the league. He ranks third among all NCAA Division III men's lacrosse student-athletes with 4.46 goals per game and is also fifth in the nation with 5.38 points per game and eighth in the country with 10 man-up goals this season.
Classmate Nick Treon (Danville, Pa.) also ranks in the top-10 in the national rankings, as his 3.00 assists per game puts him at fifth in Division III. For the complete D3 statistical ranking summary for Merchant Marine, follow this link.
