Young Named Landmark MLAX Defensive Athlete Of The Week

TOWSON, Md. (March 28, 2016) – On Monday, the Landmark Conference announced the men's lacrosse weekly honors and USMMA senior goalie Kevin Young (Springfield, Va.) was named the Defensive Athlete of the Week after his performances in the Mariners' two home victories last week over Manhattanville on Wednesday and Goucher on Saturday.

The senior started the week earning the win between the pipes in the Mariners' 19-9 victory, as he played three quarters and made three saves while allowing just five goals. In Saturday's Landmark opener, Young stood tall, making a season-best 17 saves and allowing just five goals to finish the week with a 2-0 record, 20 saves and a 5.71 goals against average. He also picked up three groundballs total over the two games.
