Men’s Lacrosse Drops Road Landmark Game At Susquehanna, 9-4
The USMMA men’s lacrosse team lost a Landmark Conference contest on the road on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Crusaders of Susquehanna University, 9-4, at SU’s Sassafras Field. The defeat drops the Mariners to 3-4 (1-2 Landmark) on the season, while the Crusaders improve to 8-2 (2-1 Landmark).

MLAX Holds Of Manhattanville’s Late Rally For 7-6 Road Victory
The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men’s lacrosse team defeated non-conference opponent Manhattanville College, 7-6, at GoValiants.com Field on Wednesday night in Westchester County. The Mariners improve to an even 3-3 overall on the season, while the Valiants fall to 2-4.

The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy returned home for its first game on the friendly confines of Brooks Stadium on Saturday, hosting Landmark Conference foe Catholic University for the first home league game of the season.

Due to the impending snow storm that is expected to hit the New York Metropolitan Area all day Friday, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Athletic Department is announcing time changes to its home games for men’s and women’s lacrosse and baseball on Saturday, March 21.

Men’s Lacrosse Beats Goucher, 8-7, On Smith’s Game-Winner With Nine Seconds Left
Despite blowing a 7-2 third quarter lead on the road, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men’s lacrosse team defeated Goucher College on Saturday afternoon in the Landmark Conference opener, 8-7, thanks to a goal by senior Troy Smith (Deer Park, Texas) with just nine seconds remaining in regulation time. The Mariners improve to 2-2 (1-0 Landmark) on the season, while the Gophers fall to 5-3 (0-1 Landmark).

The USMMA men’s lacrosse team lost to Alfred University, 10-6, on Wednesday afternoon at Myrtle Beach High School. The Mariners fall to 1-2 overall on the season, while the Saxons improve to 3-0.

Men’s Lacrosse Edged By Oswego State, 6-5
The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men’s lacrosse team lost for the first time this season to visiting Oswego State in a very close affair, 6-5, on Sunday afternoon at Brooks Stadium. With the loss, the Mariners fall to 1-1 overall, while the Lakers improve to 2-0.

On Monday, the Landmark Conference announced that USMMA senior Geoff Harty (Chicago, Ill.) has earned men’s lacrosse Athlete of the Week accolades. The honor comes after Harty’s performance in the Mariners’ 19-9 season-opening win over Coast Guard at home on Saturday.

The USMMA men’s lacrosse team opened up the 2015 season in grand fashion on Saturday, hosting the first-annual Wounded Warrior Tribute Day and defeating arch-rival Coast Guard, 19-9, in front of a fantastic crowd at Brooks Stadium.

Wounded Warrior Speaks To USMMA Midshipmen Thursday At Lunch To Kick Off MLAX Wounded Warrior Tribute Weekend
On Thursday, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy welcomed a special guest, Wounded Warrior Deven Schei, to speak to the Midshipmen during lunch hour at Delano Hall. Schei spoke to the Mids for nearly the entire lunch hour about his experiences in the U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne Air Assault Division in Afghanistan and received a standing ovation at the conclusion.

Men’s Lacrosse Excited For 2015 Season Ahead Of Saturday’s Opener Against Coast Guard
Under 25th-year head coach Tom Gill, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men’s lacrosse team will begin the 2015 campaign this Saturday, Feb. 28, with a home game against arch-rival and first-year NCAA program Coast Guard scheduled for 1 p.m. at Brooks Stadium. During the season-opener, the Mariners will be honoring Wounded Warriors with special pre-game and halftime ceremonies.
