Matt Miller Selected To All-MBWA Division III Third Team

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (May 5, 2017) – The Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) recently announced its postseason honors for NCAA Division III and USMMA senior Matt Miller (Augusta, Ga.) was selected to the All-Met Third Team after his performance for the Mariners this season.

Miller finished the 2016-17 season ranked first on the Mariners and third in the Skyline Conference with a career-best 19.3 points per game. His .859 free-throw percentage (116-for-135) was the best in the Skyline and the senior also ranked seventh in the league with 2.2 three-pointers per game and 10th with a .396 field-goal percentage (147-for-371).

Over his career, the Augusta, Ga., native scored 1,415 points in exactly 100 games played. He became one of just 28 players in program history to reach the 1,000-point plateau back in late November. Miller averaged 14.2 points per game over his career.

During the 2016-17 season, Miller was a one-time Skyline and MBWA Basketball Player of the Week (Week of Dec. 19) and also landed on the Skyline Weekly Honor Roll five times throughout the year. The Skyline head coaches selected him to the Second Team All-Conference at the conclusion of the campaign.
