BOSTON (Nov. 25, 2016) – On Friday night, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men's basketball team lost a neutral-site game against Daniel Webster College, 59-49, on the first night of the 32nd Annual Harbor Invitational, hosted by UMass-Boston.
Senior Matt Miller (Augusta, Ga.) scored a game-high 20 points for the Mariners, while classmate Hunter Jones (Goodyear, Ariz.) and junior Robbie Kennedy (Spring Lake, N.J.) both added nine points apiece. Sophomore David Washington (Frisco, Texas) brought down a team-best nine rebounds.
Two players scored in double-figures for the Eagles – senior Ray Farmer led the way with 12 and junior Jaquan Harrison contributed 10 off the bench. Junior Marquise Caudill recorded a game-high 10 rebounds.
The Mariners are back at it tomorrow, when they face Vermont Tech in the consolation game of the Harbor Invite. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. at UMass-Boston's Clark Gymnasium. Live stats and a live video stream for of the game are available with links on the USMMA Men's Basketball Schedule Page.
