Moore Named NEWMAC Offensive Player Of The Week

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Nov. 7, 2017) – On Monday, the NEWMAC Conference announced that USMMA senior quarterback Brice Moore (Pace, Fla.) was selected as the league's Offensive Player of the Week for football. The honor, Moore's second of the season (Oct. 10), comes after his performance in the Mariners' record-tying 62-27 home NEWMAC victory over Catholic this past Saturday. 

The senior led all rushers in the game with 104 yards and found the end zone twice on the day. He also completed two passes on three attempts for 115 yards to finish with a total offense of 219 yards in the game. The quarterback led an offensive unit that went 75% on third down efficiency and was successful on both tries on fourth down while tying a 57-year old program record by putting up 62 points in the game.

Moore and the rest of the Mariners are back in action this Saturday, Nov. 11, in the Secretaries' Cup matchup against arch-rival Coast Guard up in New London, Conn. Kickoff is slated for 12-noon at the Bears' Cadet Memorial Field. The game will feature live stats, which will be available at this link, and a live video stream produced by ESPN on or on the WatchESPN app on your tablet or smart phone.
