KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Nov. 15, 2016) – Two USMMA football players were honored by the Liberty League early this week after the final week of the regular season – freshman linebacker Reno Dubreuil (Moorpark, Calif.) was selected as the Rookie of the Week, while junior quarterback Brice Moore (Pace, Fla.) landed on the weekly honor roll.
Dubreuil led the Mariner defense on Saturday in the Mariners' 15-12 home victory over Springfield. He tied for the game-high with 13 tackles (11 solo and two assisted), with three tackles for losses, including two sacks. He also had a key sack (not counted in overall stats) on Springfield's two-point conversion play early in the third quarter that wound up having major implications on the final score.
Moore led the Mariner offense with 135 yards of total offense. He had two rushing touchdowns on 30 yards on the ground to go along with 105 passing yards on 6-of-8 completions. He also ran in a two-point conversion in the third quarter to finish the game with 14 of the Mariners' 15 points in the win.

The Mariners ended the 2016 campaign with a 5-4 overall record, including a 4-3 mark in Liberty League action. It was the program's first winning season since 2003 and Head Coach Mike Toop's first since arriving at Kings Point in 2005.
