Daniel Kennedy Tabbed Liberty League Special Teams Performer of the Week

Kennedy kicked a pair of fourth quarter field goals in the Mariners 19-14 win over Maritime en route to being named the Liberty League Special Teams Performer of the Week. After missing his first kick of the day in the first quarter, the freshman rebounded with a clutch 28-yard attempt that split the uprights to give USMMA a two score lead, 16-7, with 8:02 to play.

Kennedy came through again with 3:06 remaining in regulation, splitting the uprights with a 27-yard attempt that made it 19-14. He also averaged 48 yards on his two punts of the day, including a long of 54 yards.

The Mariners have now picked up a weekly award following their last two games as John-Leon Gosselin (Nashua, NH) earned Offensive Performer of the Week accolades following USMMA's triumph over Coast Guard.  Merchant Marine will look to make it three straight wins as they travel to face defending league champion #13 Hobart this Saturday.
